Following the announcement that Globespan has gone into administration, Thomson and First Choice can confirm that they are committed to offering alternative holidays to thousands of holidaymakers, after their original plans had been thrown into doubt.

Globespan customers who booked their holiday directly from any Thomson or First Choice shop can seek secure alternative arrangements, as Dermot Blastland, Managing Director of Thomson and First Choice confirmed. “We are advising customers who booked a package holiday through one of our shops to take their original documents with them to any of our branches nationwide,” he said. “Our experienced retail teams will be able to arrange an alternative holiday from our wide range of destinations, and assist with claiming the refund for their Globespan holiday. Customers can therefore rebook to go to their original destination or an alternative, simply by paying the difference in the package price if the cost is higher.”

Globespan customers who have booked a holiday or flight with a travel agent other than Thomson or First Choice are advised to visit the travel agent that originally sold them the holiday.

Thomson Airways has added an extra 350 individual flights for this winter and next summer to assist customers who’ve had their holiday plans thrown into disarray. In total, over 100 extra flights are available from Edinburgh serving Tenerife , Egypt and Majorca and 250 from Glasgow serving Costa Blanca , Costa Del Sol, Algarve, Majorca, Tenerife Turkey, Cyprus and Florida. For full details please visit http://www.thomson.co.uk/flights or call in at your local Thomson or First Choice retail store.
