Thomson is set to feature holidays in Mykonos from summer 2010, the tiny Greek island of Mykonos made famous in the 1960’s when former First Lady Jacqueline ‘Kennedy’ Onassis gave it her stamp of approval and sparked the renowned international jet set of the time to take a shine to the island. Since then, Mykonos has not lost any of its lustre, but it has slipped under the radar, with more Brits travelling abroad finding its larger neighbours, such as Crete, Corfu and Rhodes, much more accessible.

Until now…

Thomson is set to enhance its Greek product in 2010 when it launches its first ever weekly flights to Mykonos (from Manchester), as well as a fantastic range of accommodation that’s sure to see the island become a hit with our customers seeking that little bit more from their summer holiday. Whilst Mykonos’ central hub and capital, Mykonos Town, plays host to a mass of bars, nightclubs and restaurants, the island also has its measure of fine sandy beaches and coves dotting the coastline. For those looking to be more adventurous on their holidays in Mykonos, there is a range of water sports on offer and for those looking for a cultural experience, the World Heritage-listed island of Delos is just a couple of kilometres off-shore.

Already a hit with the gay crowd, owing to its cosmopolitan, trendy image, Mykonos has something for everyone, from the winding, pedestrian-only streets of the old town to some of the best beaches in the Aegean, all fused with some of the most intoxicating and electric nightlife this side of Ibiza.
